Experience a touch of Bali at the Aneka Lovina Beach Hotel...

The decent mid-range Aneka Lovina Beach Hotel is located on Jalan Raya Kalibukbuk right on Lovina Beach known for its stunning colorful sunsets.

The estate of this Bali beach resort is huge and has a long private driveway leading towards the Balinese thatched lobby roofs.

There are 24 standard rooms and 35 beautifully decorated 'villas' with colourful carved doors set along a garden path that runs from the lobby to the beach.

The Balinese rooms are large and have the usual amenities such as air-conditioning, mosquito net, fridge, TV etc. The only thing they might improve is the bathroom; it’s clean but very basic.

There are lots of tropical flowers and plants around the rooms giving the hotel an inviting and relaxed character. Relaxed (or shall I say ‘quiet’) is what Lovina is all about but it has its reasons...

Even though the dolphins are a major attraction in Lovina, not so many tourists drive all the way to North Bali to see it.

So don’t be surprised to see only a handful of travellers enjoying the pool or strolling through the Aneka Lovina premises, it has nothing to do with the quality of the hotel.

If you're planning to stay here try to get yourself one of the villas, which are actually cottages. They are more value for money than the standard rooms.

It has its advantages as well when there's hardly anybody around. It doesn’t happen that often that you have the pool all to yourself right? ;-)

The Purnama restaurant is located next to the swimming pool and serves international dishes. Prices here are a bit more expensive than the rest of the restaurants in Kalikbukbuk.

So if you don’t feel like eating at the hotel you can always take the hotels’ shuttle bus service into Kalibukbuk town where you find some surprisingly good restaurants such as our favorite Seabreeze restaurant or Warung Bintang Bali.

If you like to go by foot it takes around 15/20 minutes from the hotel to town.

The hotel also has a gym, kid’s play corner and a Balinese dance course for those that need some more action during their holidays.

There’s one thing worth mentioning when you are staying at this Bali accomodation. Right on the beach in front of the hotel there are a couple of persistent vendors, who love to sell you their dolphin- and snorkeling tours and souvenirs ranging from seashells to sarongs.

They don’t give up easily, not surprising given the fact that the northern region of Bali is less wealthy than the south of Bali.

If you're interest in any of the merchandise than stick to the same vendor and the rest will leave you alone for the remainder of your holiday.

Nevertheless the Aneka Lovina is a decent and cheap mid-range Bali beach resort that is a good place to spend a couple of days for dolphin watching, snorkeling or just lazing at the pool.

Average price per night for a cottage is $45 USD (double room) but excl. breakfast and 21% tax and service.
