Feel at home at the Art Kafe Ubud

Art Kafe Ubud is located on Jalan Monkey Forest road and you might easily pass it without noticing it as the building seems to be squeezed between two other bigger buildings.

When standing in front of it looks like a tiny bamboo hut but once inside you enter a colorful place with all different kinds of seating areas, decorations and paintings hanging on the walls.

The whole interior is a colorful and very informal display of all kind of things put inside a restaurant, but somehow it fits and creates this feeling as if you've entered somebody's home.

The restaurant stretches all the way to the back ending in a tropical garden.

We had dinner and lunch here. But they also serve breakfast, so you can go there anytime of day.

Like the interior, the menu consists of all kinds of things. For breakfast they serve different types of omelets, fruit salad with yogurt accompanied with muesli, granola, wheat germs of organic seeds.

But they also have organic fried brown rice with long beans and corns...

 

Relax and enjoy their great food and drinks...

 

For lunch or dinner you have a choice of soups of which the coconut pumpkin soup sounds very nice, various salads, sandwiches and burgers.

Main courses are seafood and chicken dishes, pasta, Indonesian food and all styles of burritos.

So as you can tell it's an interesting menu and every time you come here you can eat something totally different.

After dinner we couldn't resist the dessert. Even if you just want something sweet you can head over to the Art Kafe Ubud.

For dessert they have crepes, homemade ice-cream, the popular Indonesian pisang goreng (fried banana) with ice-cream, vanilla creme brulee, fudgy brownies and their family recipe Tiramisu.

We tried the last two...and I think you should too.

During the day the Art Kafe is a great place to sit back, chat for hours, use their wireless internet or enjoy a good book.

In the evenings they sometimes have live acoustic music. You can hear them playing when passing by.

So if there is a small band playing, pop in for some drinks, food and of course dessert!

We really enjoyed hanging out at the Art Kafe Ubud. The atmosphere is good and as mentioned before they have a large choice of food. So if everybody wants to eat something totally different, chances are you will all be satisfied here...
