Highlights of the family-friendly Bali Dynasty Hotel

The Bali Dynasty hotel is located in Tuban, south of Kuta. The entrance is located far from the main road due to its long driveway which gives it a more private resort look. When we were there the hotel was undergoing a big renovation.

Pictures of the future main lobby were displayed here. From the looks of it we can expect a new, classy, modern look including a piano man.

Besides shops and restaurants, the Bali Dynasty has it own Gracie Kelly’s Irish pub, coffee shop and even its own barber. So a bad hair day will be definitely out of the question when staying here.

The rooms are located facing the palm tree garden and pool. Within the garden there is also a busy looking restaurant with a terrace that overlooks a huge turquoise pool.

The main pool is big with enough room on the side to relax on beach chairs. We immediately noticed that there were not many young children splashing around in the main pool.

Just around the corner the hotel has created a kids club called Kupu Kupu (butterfly in Indonesian). Not only does this club have an excellent area for children to play, there is also a child-friendly pool with a 56 meter water slide and experienced staff to watch over the children.

We thought the kids pool looked very fancy, especially with a part of the pool being constantly in the shade. It is without doubt much better than the usual little piece of shallow pool in which children are suppose to play in.

The grown-ups are however not forgotten. The hotel also has a pool where children are not allowed to enter. The shallow lazy pool is beautifully set in a garden.

The unique thing about this pool is that you can actually lie comfortably in the water. In the pool ‘stoned beds’ enable you to doze away while your head remains out of the water.

It's time to relax at the lazy pool

Just a couple of metres from the lazy pool you can find the hotel spa. The spa is a cute little building that offers a wide range of massage treatments.

The massages are given in a gazebo just outside the spa building. The gazebo has no walls and is pretty much open, so a massage with the sounds of the ocean in the background just makes it more relaxing.

Like other hotels in Tuban, this hotel does not have its own private beach. However we did easily find a small gate next to the kids club leading to a beach.

It is not really what we would call a perfect beach, but it is possible to climb pass the rocks and jump into the sea.

This beach area is not private though so there are many shops offering Balinese souvenirs and a number of masseurs who are ready for action.

There was a sign on the beach which showed the future plans for the area. The government is planning to create a boulevard and some strips of beach. Once these plans are finalized it will make it easier to enjoy a swim in the ocean.

The Bali Dynasty hotel is definitely a hotel that provides facilities for the old and the very young. It is one of the few hotels that has a nice kids only pool.

So we recommend this hotel to families who have young children that love to spend the whole day playing in the water.

Average price per night for a Superior Room $144 USD incl. 21% tax and service. The Cool thing is that the kids eat free from the buffet when they are accompanied by a full paying adult.
