Tee-time at the Bali Golf and Country clubThe Bali Golf and Country Club seems to be scattered around the Nusa Dua Beach area. It already starts when you enter the highly secured gates to this area with luxury 5-star resorts. Then on the right side you can see the gently sculptured driveways and bunkers amidst mature palm trees and dense vegetation of tropical plants and flowers.
Luckily there are plenty of EZ-Go golf carts available since this golf estate seems to take forever. This 18-hole championship Nusa Dua golf course is designed by Nelson & Wright of Hawaii and is voted "One of Asia 5 Best Golf courses" by Fortune Magazine. These designers have created small built stone walls to design the tees and fairways in such a way that they resemble Balinese rice terraces. Other golf courses such as the Nirwana Bali Golf Club near the Tanah Lot temple has this nice looking feature of rice terraces as well.
There are multiple tees which range from 5,028 to 6,871 yards, par 72 and the championship tees of 72.4 with men's tees 70.4 and ladies tees of 69.9. The course record is held by Nick Faldo:- 63 during the Alfred Dunhill Masters on the 4th of November, 1994. There are two putting greens for practicing and one chipping green. Holes 1-9 with its creeks, canyons and tropical gardens are located in the northern part in the hilly area of Nusa Dua. This is the perfect place from where you have stunning vistas on the Indian Ocean in the distance. When you come here early in the morning (preferable before 12am) you have a big chance to see Bali's most sacred mountain, the Gunung Agung too. Halfway holes 1-9 you can find a small bar that serves light snacks and cool drinks so relax a bit and enjoy the company. . Hole 10 until 18 are set around the clubhouse, the 16-acre lake, coconut trees and just a stone-throw away from the beach. Hole 17 leads straight towards the beach and hole 18 leads back to the clubhouse. The clubhouse house has a cafe called The Bunker where you can have fresh juices or a beer and some light meals. This cafe is open daily from 6am to 7pm. Upstairs of the clubhouse there a restaurant called 'Barong Restaurant' and this restaurant serves international and Indonesian dishes. It's open from 10am to 5pm. The Clubhouse also features a fully equipped conference room for business meetings and corporate retreats. From here you have a great view on the lake and the 18th fairway.
Fees: Golf fee: A round of 18 holes of golf at the Bali Golf and Country Club costs $142 USD and an extra 9-holes on the same day costs $60 USD (only available after 3pm). Tee times start at 6 am until 4pm. Last one for 18 holes at 1.50 pm. There also the 'Sundowner' with tees of at 3pm until the sun goes down, which is around 6.30pm. This costs $70 USD. All prices here are exclusive 10% Government tax but include a EZ-Go golf cart (with mini-bar), a multi-lingual caddy and service charge.
Just like the other Bali golf courses it gets pretty crowded during the weekends so try to avoid them as much as possible. Average it takes 4 hours 30 min for a round of golf at the Nusa Dua golf course. For those that like to get some training there is PGA Golf Professional staff available who will help you with your swing and show you the latest techniques.
