If you are at home checking the many Bali Island Villas on the internet, I won't be surprised if you get lost by all the choices available.
The last couple of years the amount of villas in Bali has grown considerably, each one being more beautiful than the other. So I can imagine it can get very confusing when you are looking for the ideal villa.
Have you been able to find the most wonderful Bali Luxury villa?

Private entrance to your own Bali holiday villa
For me, after visiting many Bali Island Villas I now know that despite the beauty and high standards of luxury, there are several aspects that make one villa more suitable for someone than another.
And these little aspects and details make a whole difference for your experience at a Bali luxury villa.
So to avoid any disappointments during your stay, here are several points that you should keep in mind before booking your villa in Bali.
After you have decided in which part of Bali you want to spend your holiday, you can start looking for the private Bali luxury villa you like best.
You should keep in mind though that sometimes Bali island villas tend to say they are located in a specific village, but in the end you find yourself driving through tiny Balinese villages before you reach your totally isolated villa.
If you are looking for something far from the crowd, then that is great.

Far from popular Seminyak, but Villa Kecil

In the somewhat isolated types of villas you can expect a lot of space to yourself and a villa surrounded with a beautiful tropical garden.
But if you prefer a villa that is almost walking distance from all the action then you should take a second look at the villa’s address and map.
Examples are Bali island villas in Seminyak that are actually located in the neighboring village Kerobokan, villas in Ubud that are located almost a 15 minutes drive from the cultural center and villas in Jimbaran that are more in the Bukit area instead near the beautiful Jimbaran Beach.
Many Bali island villas show wonderful pictures on their website, including the private villa pool. If you are looking for a real swimming pool, make sure you book a villa with a pool and not a plunge pool. There is a big difference in size here…

Do you want your villa to come with a pool or...
So if you are planning to swim a couple of laps during your holiday contact the villa and ask them the size of the private pool first.
Basically there are three types of Bali island villas which can determine your choice. First of all you have the “Villa Complex” which means that there are more villas on the premises.
The advantage of staying at a Villa Complex is that you can expect high service, for instance your own chef who prepares breakfast for you every morning in your private kitchen or they can arrange a romantic dinner just for you.
Additionally, the design of the villas and their service are mostly focused on exclusiveness...

In most cases the Villa Complex offers 24h butler service, a great restaurant, a big public pool and many other facilities such a library, tours, shuttle service, wireless internet etc.
Another option is the "Villa Resort" which is a villa located on the premises of a big resort meaning that you can use all the facilities offered.
The advantages are somewhat similar to that of a Villa Complex such as an in-house Spa building, several choices of restaurants and in most occasions a private beach.

And on top of all the facilities for resort guests, villa guests usually receive other special services and facilities as well.
The last option is the "privately owned villa". Here the owner has one unique villa which is designed according to their own taste.
The nice thing about this type of villa is the personal service. You will get to know the small team of staff members who will be at your assistance every day.

This very informal and comfortable atmosphere gives many possibilities for guests to ask for special requests. So you can be ensured that you have everything you need.
These Bali island villas do however have fewer facilities than the other two mentioned earlier but they are able to arrange spas, tours, pick-up etc if requested.
Some villas have great package deals that include a candlelight dinner, tours or traditional massages. You should check the packages too because it can save you some money at the end.

Packages are especially attractive for honeymooners (second honeymooners are always welcome as well), for families or groups of friends who want to do day-tours around the island.
Last but not least, you have to know what type of experience you want to have. Bali island villas can be really exclusive and have unbelievable service that dazzle you.
The interior in these villas are usually cotemporary and looks like it comes straight from a designer magazine.
You’ll feel like royalty here.

Staying at the Arma Villas in Ubud is a cultural luxury...
However if you are looking for comfortable luxury where you will feel more like home, then there are many other options as well.
Look at the pictures carefully to see what kind of interior design they have. This often indicates what type of service you can expect: informal to formal.
However in both cases, the Balinese service always meets or exceeds the Western standards. I hope I have given you some great points to keep in mind when looking for your villa in Bali.
So for now all I have to say is: Happy Bali Villa Hunting…
