Our favorite Bali Luxury Resorts

My girlfriend and I have run into the most fantastic Bali luxury resorts you can think of. There are a couple of beautiful resorts where we love to return to as they have certainly caught our imagination.

Some of these luxury Bali accommodations are located right at gorgeous beaches while others can be found with views on river valleys and rice paddies.

But of course, all of them have the beautiful gardens with colourful flowers and Balinese statues just to remind you of where you are.

After visiting many resorts, we have made a list of our favorite Bali Luxury resorts.

There's always something special for everyone...

Below are our favorite Bali Luxury resorts that we have come across during our travels so far.

Bali Luxury Resorts in Kuta

Kuta is without any doubt the best place for partying and surfing, especially for those of you who have just started to experience the fun of surfing like us. So whenever we're in Bali and we feel like surfing we always make some room in our itinerary to spend a tiny bit of time in this crazy little town.

In Kuta it looks like there are more hotels than residential areas and they range from some bali luxury resorts with character to many shabby 1-star 'hotels' you don't want to spend any of your days in.

Of all the hotels we've been to in Kuta there are two that we really like and it's located right at the beach ;-) Here are our favorite Bali luxury resorts in and near Kuta:

We like this resort because it's located right across the street from famous Kuta beach.
We love the musical theme of the resort together with the amenities that provide the extra luxury.
Their swimming pool is one of its kind with their sun loungers and little gazebos for privacy...

padma resort legian Hotel Padma Bali:
This is one of our favorite Bali Luxury resorts because it's located right at the beach and near shops and restaurants.
The Garden Club Chalet is great value for money and gets you access to the Club Lounge with free drinks, snacks, cocktails and other extras.
This hotel has a stunning garden and gave us the fantastic feeling of being in the tropics...

Bali Luxury Resorts in Jimbaran

Jimbaran is famous for having one of the most gorgeous beaches on Bali and it's the best places to get some fresh seafood while playing with your toes in the sand.

The other fantastic thing about this place is that you won't find any hawkers on the beach that are always eager to sell you their merchandise.

Here we've found two luxury resorts both right on the beach that we really like to add to our 'favorite Bali luxury resort in Jimbaran' list...

This Bali beach resort is like candy to the eye with their lovely Balinese cottages under the palm trees in a spacious tropical garden.
The rooms are big, have all the modern amenities we could wish for and feels very private.
The restaurant has a French chef who prepares excellent food served to you on the beach...

interncontinental resort jimbaran Intercontinental Hotel Bali:
This huge hotel estate in Jimbaran is the perfect place for your beach holiday.
The many gazebos offer you a perfect way to retreat, read a book or watch the sunset.
Despite its size the resort is able to maintain the sense of quietness and luxury along a tropical beach that is one of its kind...

Bali Luxury Resorts in Sanur

Sanur is Bali's oldest tourist village and it is a very attractive village for older travellers and families since it has a walk-way on the beach that goes on for 5 km. This makes it ideal for those who have difficulty with walking and like to use a wheelchair or for parents with kids in strollers.

Furthermore it is very low-key and relaxed village, not like the hustle and bustle that you can experience in Kuta.

One of our favorite Bali luxury resorts in Sanur is ideally located in the quieter south of this fishing village.

This hotel is Balinese owned and operated and is in a class of itself with frangipani flowers on every Balinese statue, well-designed park, private pavilions to relax on the water and a classy open-air restaurant with a great atmosphere right on the beach.

Bali Luxury Resorts in Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is famous for its 5-star international resorts, the one even bigger than the other.

This is a great place for those who come to Bali for the first time and like to relax on the beach and make a couple of day tours to discover all the beautiful sights Bali has to offer.

We haven't stayed at any of the Bali luxury resorts in Nusa Dua since they are not 'our cup of tea' and do not represent the real Bali. Nonetheless for our website visitors we've been to numerous of the resorts in Nusa Dua and we've put two of them on our 'favorite list'...

Eventhough Nusa Dus hotel doesn't look so appealing as the other resorts from the outside, it is one of the biggest surprises and one of the best places to stay while spending your holiday in the Nusa Dua area.
Especially if you want your kids to have a grand holiday too. The beach is really gorgeous with their private sun loungers for two...

Conrad Resort is the luxury brand of the Hilton Family and they certainly know how to spoil you with tropical gardens, splendid pools, waterfalls and a gorgeous stretch of beach.
This is the perfect place to have your wedding in Bali since they have their own wedding chapel right at the beach. Romantic couples are welcome too of course ;-)...

Bali Luxury Resorts in Ubud

Ubud is the heart of cultural Bali and is the perfect spot for us as this is the place where east meets west. This is also probably the place where you will conclude that the Balinese people have created a lifestyle and environment we can only be envious off.

Here are a couple of magical places that we've put on our favorite resorts list because they embody everything that Ubud is famous for...

The Arma Resort is as charming as it can get with its many statues, Balinese paintings, gorgeous river, rice field views and tropical gardens that you will have a hard time leaving.

This is a fantastic isolated Bali boutique hotel in Ubud.
It has breath-taking views on the tropical Campuan valley and the river Wos below with yoga, meditation classes and spa treatments.

Bali Luxury Resorts in Lovina

Lovina is a sleepy fishing village on the north-coast of Bali, far away from the busy crowd in the south of Bali. It's a perfect spot for watching dolphins, visiting the temples of Buleleng and other trips in this northern part of Bali.

There are a lot of hotels in Lovina but since not so many tourists visit this village they are badly in need of some maintenance and renovation.

Luckily there are still a couple of them that have maintained high quality levels and one of them is tucked away on the slopes of the mountain overlooking this amazing part of Bali.
