Splendid views on the sea at Blue
Moon villas

Blue Moon Villas is located in the fishing hamlet of Selang and has some of the best views of our favorite hotels in Amed.

It is a bit far from all the 'action' but near the Japanese wreck which is a popular spot for scuba diving in Bali and a great spot for those who just want to snorkel.

Don't be surprised though when you see a couple of cows, dogs or roosters walking by when enjoying the view from the balcony.

Besides being a fishing hamlet the Balinese in Selang also try to cultivate some produce on the arid slopes next to this Amed hotel.

Another funny thing is that we had to wake up the staff from their coma when we arrived but this has probably to do with the fact that it's boiling hot here during the day and that we were the only ones.

When we entered the hotel the first thing that caught our eye was the kidney-shaped swimming pool with the amazing view on the Lombok Strait.

This must be the best place to relax, sip your cocktails, order some food and read the book you've always wanted to finish.

Their 'villas' should in no way be compared to the villas in Seminyak but can be considered more like bungalows/cottages consisting of 9 types of rooms, which you can combine to accommodate your group of friends or family.

They have named their types of accommodation:

- 1 Blue Ocean Villa, ideal for two people with the above sea view
- 1 Blue Heaven Villa, also for two people but with garden which contains beautiful flowers and provides plenty of shade during the day, US$70 p/night incl breakfast

- 1 Blue Star Penthouse #1 (Hahaha another Balinese joke but 'penthouse' should be translated into 'big room'), for two and includes a balcony with ocean view,

- 1 Blue Star Penthouse #2, with 2 single beds, a smaller balcony and mountain/ocean views,
- 1 Blue Star Appartment, for three people with one double and one single bed, 2 showers (one semi-outdoor), bathtub, ocean and garden view and a semi outdoor living area,

- 2 deluxe Blue Paradise Penthouse Suites, for two and includes a large balcony with day beds, modern design, kingsize bed and ocean views,
- 2 Blue Paradise Garden Suite, for three, modern design with large balcony and day beds, close to the other kidney shaped swimming pool, with garden and ocean views

We really like the Bali accommodationsS at Blue Moon Villas even though they are located far away from the rest of hotels and restaurants.

The atmosphere is informal and laid-back. As said before the staff is very helpful and will also prepare your breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Komang John Cafe, again with a great view..;-)

Pros: view, informal friendly staff, walking distance from beach

Cons: far from other restaurants and resort, more bungalows than villa rooms
