Relax under the trees at Cafe Smorgas

The Cafe Smorgas Sandwich Lounge is perfectly located under two huge trees at Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Their tree shaded terrace is an ideal spot to start the day or just to relax from the afternoon heat.

The friendly staff will immediately help you with your order and there is even reading material available including a large selection of magazines on Bali lifestyle and real estate.

Cafe Smorgas is owned by a Swedish family and Smorgas means sandwich in Swedish. So as you can expect their menu shows a large range of sandwiches all made with homemade bread.

On top of that it's a perfect place to go to for salads, cakes (such as the Swedish Apple tart), pastry, coffee and juices. On the notice board the café promotes their hot meals such as quiche.

They also claim to have the best lasagna in town...

I still have to test if this is really the case but I will definitely keep you posted…

I have been there a couple of times with my girlfriend and up till now we only went there to enjoy a drink and cake.

The coffee tastes as it should be, it’s not instant but freshly brewed from the espresso machine.

My girlfriend usually goes for the healthy mix juices in the hope that after a drink she will feel refreshed and energized or fully detoxed.

Whether or not that happens...the combination of juices with a twist of ginger, honey and more seems to suit her. She has almost tried all the juices on the menu and still can’t decide what her favorite is.

Besides eating in, you can also buy all kinds of delicious things from their deli such as different types of ham and salami, cake, bread and jams.

Don't be surprised if you travel to Bali and this deli has products that taste better than home...
