Cheap Hotels in Lovina...

It’s easy to get yourself a budget room in one of the cheap hotels in Lovina, there seem to be more guesthouses, backpackers and hostels then residential houses.

Lovina beach has always been a very quiet area compared to Sanur or Kuta beach and after the bombing of the Kuta nightclubs in 2002, it became even quieter.

This has had a huge impact on the economy and the quality of the cheap hotels in Lovina. Some haven’t seen maintenance or renovation for years while others have a healthy stream of customers throughout the year.

Be aware that you might be followed by the more desperate ones all the way from Singaraja. It happened twice that there were guys who popped out of nowhere and asked if I was looking for a hotel in Lovina so it pays to reserve your hostel in advance.

Bayu Mantra

This hostel is located in Anturan village across the Pertamina petrol station and set in a beautiful garden just around the corner of the beach. The rooms are simple, clean, have a nice verandah and are situated far enough from the main road.

There’s a basic open-air bathroom (hot/cold water) that can use some paint but hey for Rp70.000 incl breakfast it’s a bargain.

The manager Agung Alit is happy to arrange snorkel, fishing and dolphin tours for you. On the left side of the hostel are shops and a couple of restaurants. You can call him on (+62) 362-41930.

Rini Hotel

This hotel is located in Kalibukbuk village on Jalan Ketepang not far from the beach. Great place, quiet and even has good-looking pool set between tropical flowers.

The rooms are big, clean and real value for money. Standard room with fan and cold water costs Rp120.000, with AC and hot water Rp250.000. You can call them on (+62) 362-41386.

Padang Cottages

This place is also located in Kalibukbuk village on Jalan Bina Ria with a lovely garden and a pool. The people are very friendly and the rooms really cheap for what you get.

There are rooms with three good beds, AC, hot water, clean bathrooms and a verandah to relax for around Rp 200.000 incl breakfast.

Pondok Wisata Mumbul Guesthouse

This guesthouse is located in the village of Anturan and there's free WIFI throughout the grounds. There's a kidney shaped swimming pool and even for little kids they have a small attached pool.

There are only four rooms so be quick before other smart travellers have booked this value for money place already. By the way there are free bicycles available as well, ideal for touring Lovina. Around Rph 200.000 including breakfast, taxes and service charge.
