Cheap Ubud accommodation can be found in this amazing village as well with its beautiful green setting, it’s narrow ancient looking alleys, temples and the surrounding rice fields.
The budget traveller or backpacker can find surprising good Bali accommodations to stay at including first class views over the rice fields and river gorges.
For only Rp 150.000 for a double room you have a bargain which you will remember every time you think of your guesthouse or homestay in Ubud.
Unfortunately we have occasionally stayed in one of the many cheap Ubud accommodation that looked perfect at first, but when spending the night we discovered it was pretty run down or not so clean. So check the sheets, bed and bathroom first before deciding to spend the night.
Here is a list of places that we enjoyed staying in or we think should be put in the spot light because we wouldn’t want you to miss out on it...
This is the place where I stayed in during my first visit in Ubud in 2005. I immediately felt lucky that I had found a gem like this.
This cheap Ubud accommodation is located half way Jalan Kajeng. Only through the sign at the entrance do you know that you are actually at the right place because once you enter the Balinese gate you will see a living quarter and people doing their daily chores. No reception what so ever in sight.

Enjoying the view...
But before you know it somebody will be there to show you the rooms with ravine view. The first time I stayed in what seemed like a new building on the second floor. The room was huge, had hot/cold water, mosquito net, fan and a big balcony.
Lecuk Inn also has smaller cabins too and some in the back with no view. The second time I stayed there I slept in a room with a smaller balcony but with the same view, an open air bathroom and a verandah with enough space to sit, relax and listen to all the sounds.
For breakfast there's a delicious egg-jaffle, fruit salad and coffee/tea served on the balcony. This is definitely a budget accommodation in Bali I would love to return to again.
You can spend a night a Lecuk Inn for only Rp. 130.000 for two people incl. breakfast and tax. Call (+62) 361-973445 to check if there are any rooms. Often there are people staying there for a long period of time and the rooms are popular so book in advance...
The Gusti’s Garden 2 is located in the middle of the rice fields. You have to pass a small path along the rice fields to reach it. We accidentally bumped into it when we were exploring the rice fields.

Gusti's Garden is surrounded by ricefields...
Immediately upon entering you will see a small swimming pool. The prices are around Rp. 200.000 and the rooms are really clean and bright.
The best part is the verandah. When sitting on the big bamboo chairs you can gaze over the rice fields...an amazing sight.
This cheap Ubud accommodation is clean, has good beds and a great location to relax but bring some earplugs since it can be noisy with frogs, cats and lots of crickets...Call (+62) 361 971474 to see if they have rooms available.
Padma Accommodation is also located on Jalan Kajeng and coincidence or not next to Lecuk Inn at number 13. This cheap Ubud accommodation is the best homestay I found until now in Ubud.

One of the few rooms at Padma Bali
The owners are friendly and the room is spotless clean. It's well-decorated with Balinese furniture, paintings and there are even flower petals on the bed. There's a fridge and it has a really cool outdoor bathroom with a clean bathtub and another shower (so 2 showers).
The breakfast is standard with fruit salad, tea/coffee, scrambled eggs, jaffles or omelette. The rooms at Padma Accommodation are often full so you have to call them at least a couple of days in advance.
A double room costs Rp150.000 incl. breakfast and tax. Just Call Mr. I Wayan Swatama on (+62)361-977247
