Furama Villas Ubud is an exclusive place tucked away in the rice fields of a small traditional Balinese village.
I think it's the perfect spot for honeymooners and for those travelers looking for some peace of mind while falling asleep with the sound of crickets...

Reception at Furama Villas Ubud
As the name implies 'Furama Exclusive Villas Ubud' we thought it must be located in Ubud or just a stone-throw away from Ubud but we found out that it takes around 20-25 minutes by car from Ubud to get there. Not that it's a pain in the ass though.
The trip from Ubud village is definitely worth it though....
The Furama Villas is located on the outskirts of an idyllic Balinese traditional village called Banjar Bindu where you have chickens jump around and small Balinese boys playing with their kites on the dusty village road.

Furama Villas Ubud is located right in the ricefields
At this Furama villa complex you have the choice out of two types of villas which are:
the Furama Villas, divided in 19 Deluxe pool villas and 5 Royal Pool Villas (2 pavilions for 2 couples) and the Furama Exclusive Villas which are divided in 14 Lagoon Pool Villas and 4 Spa Pool Villas.
Exclusive is the name of the game here at the Furama Villas Ubud and that’s exactly what you get.
Between the two types of villas I found the Furama Exclusive Villas more exclusive than the older Furama Villas, probably because they have just been built.

The Furama Villas Ubud, popular with Europeans
The Furama villas are popular with Europeans because of the traditional interior with the Balinese thatched roofs, Javanese doors and other Balinese details.
The Bali luxury villa is really clean and bright but luckily not over the top. You can find Victorian furniture here with dark colors and white leather.

Bedroom at the Furama Villas, Deluxe Pool Villa
When we arrived the staff at the Furama had put flowers in the shape of a heart on the bed and they had filled the bathtub and decorated it with flower petals in the shape of a heart as well.
Well if that doesn't do the trick to get you into a romantic mood, what will...? ;-)
Besides these cute little details we found the outdoor shower a nice feature as well since all you have to do was to look up and pinch yourself when looking up at the palm trees and Balinese sky...

Luckily every villa has the availability of a private pool besides the public pool which is a great place to lounge as well.
The Furama villas even have two massage beds where staff will show you what a real Balinese massage is all about.

Breakfast was served in the Padi restaurant, which is open from 7 am to 11 am but you could request to have your breakfast on the verandah of your villa as well.
After breakfast you can hop on the free shuttle service to Ubud. It leaves 5 times a day so that will leave enough opportunities for you to do some shopping, visit the monkey forest or the royal palace.
After you return from Ubud you can choose to have your dinner in the Padi restaurant or to have a 'romantic' dinner in your villa.

Besides a private villa pool, Furama Villas Ubud also has a public pool
The Furama Exclusive Villas are located a bit further down the road and these villas are very popular with Asians and honeymooners who are totally into contemporary Balinese design and the one of its kind lagoon swimming pool.
Lagoon swimming pool?
Yep, at the Furama Villas Ubud they thought it would be a great idea to surround 14 classy villas around a 70 meter long olympic styled swimming lagoon.
Not a bad idea at all if you ask me...

The 70-meter long lagoon pool
The cool thing about this lagoon pool is that every villa has its own private entrance to the pool and a verandah with sun loungers to get yourself a tan.
When you fancy a cold beer or cocktail just call room service or jump in the pool and head for the Lagoon bar (open from 10.30am-6.30pm).
If you're a bit tired of opening the door to the pool no worries, just hold your breath and swim under it since your private swimming pool is connected with the lagoon pool.

Living room at the Lagoon Villa
The whole Bali luxury private villa is made out of glass doors and glass walls and consists of 165 sq meters. So from every angle in the villa you are able to see what is going on outside.
In the bedroom you can find a huge bed with a thick enough mattress to spread your wings and land upon.
Another exclusive feature about this villa is that the Furama has installed a flat screen both in the living room and in the bedroom, probably for those who are not thinking of leaving the place.

The Lagoon Villa popular with Asians
Throughout the resort there's also wireless Internet so you can update you family or friends about your luxury days in the tropics.
The bathroom is also made out of glass and includes two stylish sinks, toiletries, hair-dryer and a black and white bathtub and also a separate indoor shower.

Modern designs in the Xclusive villa
Unfortunately the Furama Exclusive Villas do not have in-house spa facilities but there is a separate spa where you make a booking for two with gorgeous views on the nearby rice paddies.
Here you can also go for some manicure, pedicure and chill in the jacuzzi.
Try to book a couple of days in advance as it one of those popular things to do when you're staying here.

Spa at the Furama Villas Ubud
Other activities at the Furama include Balinese dance lessons, wood and stone carving classes, cooking classes, cycling around the area, village trekking, yoga lessons and visit the Subak museum in the nearby village.
So even though these Ubud Villas are in the middle of nowhere there's still something to do.
I highly recommend the Furama Villas Ubud for honeymooners or romantic couples who are looking for a quiet spot tucked away in the rice fields and with the modern amenities of a 5-star resort.
