When we arrived at Kori Ubud we were greeted with a big smile from the friendly receptionist. He offered us a delicious welcome drink and gave us general information about breakfast, the shuttle bus schedule etc.

He then took us to our Deluxe room which was located on the second floor. In total the resort consists of 5 Superior, 5 Deluxe and 2 Suite rooms all located in 2 storey bungalow buildings.

The Kori Ubud Bungalows have rooms on the ground and first floor

Because there are only 12 rooms it all feels like your own private resort with lots of well-trained staff to help you with whatever you need.

This is what makes this Ubud accomodation such a great place to spend a holiday...

The rooms have either a spacious balcony or a verandah from where you can enjoy the tropical garden. Rooms located near the pool also have a wonderful view on the small river gorge and the ricefields Ubud is so famous for.

All of the clean and stylish Balinese rooms with thatched roofs have the usual amenities such as king-sized bed, air-conditioning, mosquito net, fan, satellite/cable TV, IDD telephone, mini-bar etc.

The bathroom with the typical Balinese style is spotless clean and is far bigger than mos resorts we've been to. In our case it seemed like our bedroom was just a big as the bathroom.

The two-story restaurant and bar at Kori Ubud serves Balinese and Mediterranean styled dishes and there are two small pavilions near the pool where you can have a romantic candlelight dinner.

We were surprised though that the prices were relatively high compared to other Bali accommodation and restaurants. So if you prefer to eat somewhere else, no problem, there is free transport available to downtown Ubud where you find several good restaurants.

breakfast at kori ubud bali
Not only tasty but a delight for the eyes too

As it's just a small Bali boutique hotel, the restaurant does not serve an extensive buffet for breakfast. Instead they have a 4 course menu with different options. If you rather not have one of the courses then you can choose something else from any other course.

Some people, like my girlfriend and I love a breakfast which includes a buffet as there is a large choice of things. However we were really impressed by the breakfast at Kori Ubud. It looked professional and it was very delicious too.

Enjoying the pool with the restaurant and spa in the back

Kori Ubud also has a spa, with three rooms where you can have massages such as Chi massages, Ubud Pijat, Special Beauty, Ubud Harmony massages.

But to be honest the spa looked pretty deserted so my girlfriend prefered to head to the Botanic Spa just a bit further down the street. Not only did it give her more the 'Bali spa feeling' but it was far cheaper too.

kori ubud bali pool

The eye catching terrace styled pool made us ditch all afternoon plans so we could laze away while taking a swim. The pool on the highest level is undeep so ideal for a dip or to let the children swim. If you prefer to swim around then the one below near the sundeck is more ideal.

As the pool is next to the restaurant it's easy to order a cocktail while bubbling away in the jacuzzi located just near the pool.

It's time to relax at the pool...

We had a great time at the Kori Ubud. The resort and its garden are very well maintained and we like the fact that it is a small scale hotel. It's an ideal resort if you want to loose the crowd and have the feeling of privacy.

Try to book yourself one of the deluxe rooms on the first floor so you can soak up the scenery to the fullest.

Pro's: big rooms and bathrooms, staff, pool, breakfast, free wifi, small scale resort

Con's: overpriced spa, far from the Ubud action
