The Kuta Lagoon Hotel is situated on the busy and crazy Jalan Raya Legian. This is where most of Kuta Beach Bali's night life happens with numerous sports bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
It’s easy to miss the hotel entrance since it’s tucked away between boutiques, souvenir shops and a maze of other buildings which are typical for the area of Kuta.

Together with Jalan Pantai (the Kuta beach hotel street) Jalan Raya Legian must be the busiest road in Kuta but luckily the Lagoon hotel is located on a quiet part of this street.
Once I arrived at the small hotel lobby I forgot I was in Kuta, it’s soooo quiet, something I didn’t expect at all...
All of the rooms have lagoon pool view and the place is beautifully set among bamboo, tropical flowers and Balinese statues holding jugs of water pouring straight into the pool. It’s obvious where the hotel got its name from.

The 23 rooms on the ground level have direct access to the pool from the verandah so it only takes 3 steps from the hotel bed into the pool.
Be careful though when you are looking for the toilet in the middle of the night, you might open the wrong door...
The hotel offers 23 rooms with pool access, 29 deluxe rooms on the second floor of the building, 12 standard rooms and 11 villas with private or shared pool. The rooms are a bit basic though and I would recommend the Pool access rooms.
Something you hardly see on Bali (except for Sanur) is the very good access to the rooms and the facilities of the hotel for those with a disability.
The Kuta Lagoon Hotel has built a special driveway for those travellers who stay on the second floor of the lagoon building.
There’s even a spa, sauna and simple gym available on the outer left side of the pool where you can have traditional Balinese massage treatments.

The massage gazebo
Like other hotels the Spa is the place were the action is no-action and I noticed the staff at the Kuta Lagoon Hotel being a bit pushy. Of course not as pushy as those "massage-ladies" on Kuta beach ;-)
The Lagoon Café serves International and Indonesian dishes 24-hours and on some nights it has BBQ-evenings and International Buffet dinners.

The lagoon Cafe
All in all I have to say I was very surprised to see such a hotel located in the heart of Kuta’s busiest party road. It’s an excellent type of accommodation in Bali, mid-range and for those who love to party down the street or roll into the pool as often as possible.
A Deluxe room is around $49 USD incl. tax and breakfast and a Pool Acces room is around $69 USD incl. tax and breakfast.

Pros: value for money, location, great pool
Cons: basic breakfast
