Lotus Restaurant Candidasa,
unexpectedly good Italian food

Finally...We have found good Italian food at Lotus Restaurant Candidasa. If you are staying in Candidasa I can imagine that you won't find this place that easily because it is located a bit out off town.

But after dining in Candidasa and eating "pizza-look-alikes" we were more than willing to drive the extra mile towards Manggis for some good Italian food...

 

The Italian Lotus Restaurant Candidasa is located at Lotus Bungalows

 

When you are looking for the Lotus Restaurant Candidasa don't be confused with the Lotus Seaview Restaurant which is located closer to town.

This restaurant is from the same branch and serves European and Asian food.

We had lunch there once, but despite the nice view the food tasted a bit plain. So we decided to try out the Italian version of the Lotus restaurant chain and we were happily surprised!

The restaurant is located within the premises of the Lotus Bungalow Candidasa. We were there for lunch and the place was pretty deserted.

During the day you might be taken back from the old classical Javanese interior; it doesn't look like they took alot of effort to make it attractive.

But during the evening I can imagine it looks pretty nice by candlelight.

 

Either way, we had a great lunch here. My girlfriend and I both ordered the pasta.

While I was enjoying my Spaghetti Al Frutti di Mare flavored with white wine sauce, my girlfriend was twisting her fork in the spinach home made noodles covered with tomato and basil sauce.

With the complementary bread on the side, our lunch was a real treat...

 

Besides stone oven pizzas and different kinds of pasta, the Lotus Bungalow Restaurant Candidasa also serves a variety of seafood and meat dishes.

And if you feel like tasting some Indonesian food instead you'll find the most popular dishes on the menu as well.

So if you have already tried Italian here, it is probably worth it to return to the Lotus Restaurant Candidasa for more or to go for the seafood options...

Despite having the whole restaurant to our selves we actually enjoyed the place. Our table was right next to the walkway that leads to the Lotus Bungalow infinity pool.

We had a beautiful view on the infinity pool and the ocean. And with the refreshing breeze coming from the ocean the whole picture was more than complete...
