The cute Mentari Sanur hotel is one of those small mid-range hotels in Sanur located in a residential area on a couple of hundred meters from the fishermen harbor and Sanur at Jalan Hang Tuah.

This is the place were all the boats leave for excursions to the islands of Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Serangan.
In the evening you can find several warung (Indonesian food stalls) here where you can try some local dishes such as sate lilit or nasi goreng. There are also some good western restaurants and pubs on the same street.
The small reception at Mentari Sanur Hotel
In the Balinese styled hotel lobby the reception helps you out with whatever question you have and here you can also rent a bicycle to cruise around Sanur and arrange tours throughout Bali.
The hotel has 28 rooms in a 2-story building set between flowers and frangipani trees. It’s a small hotel so you won’t lose your way on the hotel grounds.

The rooms have satellite TV and movie channels, a balcony or terrace to relax and there is even a connecting room for families.
The Mentari Sanur hotel has a turquoise swimming pool where you can cool down from the tropical heat or just laze around with your newspaper or favorite book.
I ended up having my own private pool
Not far from the hotel there’s a 9-hole golf course (par 36) which is owned and operated by the Grand Bali Beach Hotel.
Non-guests can play golf here for US$54 and this includes green fee, caddy fee and government tax.
During the day most people spend their time at Sanur beach
nevertheless the pool is nice for a dip
The Tunjung restaurant and bar at the Mentari hotel serves Balinese traditional dishes and Western dishes all day and has a small corner where you can read some books from the small library.
When I was at the Mentari Sanur hotel it seemed to be a very quiet place so it’s the ideal mid-range hotel for a relaxing holiday on Bali, you might even have the pool to yourself.
You don't have to go far to grab a bite
Average price per night is US$53 (Pool view room) and US$48 and incl return airport transfer, fruit basket, daily American breakfast and 21% tax and service.
A real bargain among the Sanur Bali hotels if you ask me ;-)
Pros: small scale Bali accomodation, quiet, Balinese atmosphere, huge kingsize bed
Cons: location far from Sanur center, beach area is less attractive but short walk from nice beach and restaurants, outdated rooms and bathroom
