The Mercure Resort Sanur is a great place to spend your well-deserved holiday

The Mercure Resort Sanur located in the southern tip of the village has corrected what the Inna Grand Bali hotel in the northern part of Sanur has failed to do with their ugly 9-story building.

When you arrive at the beautiful Mercure Resort you notice the bright and clean lobby with a friendly reception.

This is also the place to arrange transport to other parts of Sanur or trips to the highlights of Bali.

This Bali beach resort is located right on a private beach in a quiet area where expats and wealthy Balinese live.

It has 189 guest rooms and 41 Balinese cottages with thatched roofs divided in the hibiscus rooms, lotus rooms and jasmine rooms.

All the guest rooms and cottages are located behind the lobby in a park that leads to the white sandy beach with tropical flowers, palm trees, a mini-rice field and a Balinese cow.

Balinese cow?

Yep, I had to rub my eyes to believe it but the cow seems perfectly comfortable eating as much Mercure grass as she can gets among those travelers who are enjoying a Balinese massage under the palm trees.

The Mercure Resort Sanur also has a Kids Club next to the beautiful garden pool where several activities are organized by the very friendly Activity Coordinator Tamy.

He’s the one to go to if you or the kids want some more action on the resort. This is also the place to go to if you want to rent a bicycle for a day.

Babysitting is also available and costs Rp90.000 per child for an 8-hour full-day rate, Rp60.000 per child for 4 hours or Rp20.000 per child for one hour. A bargain if you ask me...

The Pandawa restaurant has stunning views on the beach pool and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with live music on certain days of the week.

If you don’t feel like early breakfast there’s always 24-hour room service that can help you out.

The golden beach is one of the best on Bali and here you can doze off for hours in one of the many beach chairs.

Don’t forget to use sun lotion and look for some shade under the trees after a while. I’ve seen too many travelers getting sunburned quickly which makes sense since Bali is close to the equator.

The only thing about the Mercure which is a bit surprising is the gym located next door of the Kids Club.

I am still not sure if I should call the gym with its basic ’80 equipment a real gym.

It’s also very small and I think it needs an upgrade quickly but like many other Sanur Bali hotels this isn't the most important thing since not that many travellers go for a work-out.

Nonetheless I felt instantly at home at the Mercure Resort Sanur and the atmosphere is just right, not over the top but just like a holiday should be, relaxed at the pool or beach.

The beach is all yours...

This is one of the hotels in Sanur where the service is also great and there are enough activities to join in whenever you feel like it.

Average price per night is around $100 which is a good deal if you ask me but hey there might be even better promotions and flex rates available on the internet.
