Get spoiled at Nusa Dua BeachNusa Dua Beach is located on Bali's southern east-coast and it takes only 20 minutes from the airport to get here. It mainly consists of four and five-star hotel resorts and has been build by the government in the 1970's to isolate travelers from hawkers, warung (little food stalls), "massage ladies" and other touts. This area used to be a poor area where the local Balinese found it hard to make a living. Fortunately with the arrival of the international hotel chains this area has flourished and many have found employment here. Except for these local Balinese you will have a hard time finding Bali in this area. If your partner gave you a surprise trip to the tropics and he told you it was Okinawa, Singapore or the Philippines you would have believed him as well.
Nusa Dua Beach is perfect for couples or families who come to Bali for the first time and who like to make day-tours to see what Bali is so famous for; terraced rice fields, volcanoes, coconut plantations, fishermen, huge temples and colorful people... It's also perfect for travelers who work like crazy all year and don't need much except for a comfortable sun lounger on the beach, a luxury hotel room and some fancy restaurants. If this is what you're looking for than this could be the ultimate destination for you. Getting Around Nusa Dua BeachNusa Dua Beach has been planned in detail so it is pretty hard to get lost here. There are hotel signs everywhere and there are only a couple of streets which connect all the resorts to each other. Nonetheless this isn't the place to go for a stroll since everything is laid out on a grand scale.
Fortunately on the beachfront there's a 5-km long foot path all the way to Tanjung Benoa where you can do some jogging in the morning or where you can pick out one of the many resorts restaurants in the evening. During the day it's too hot to move around so I advise you to relax at the pool and order yourself another cocktail... All of the resorts have a free shuttle service which take you to the Nusa Dua Galleria Shopping Mall also called the Bali Collection. Here you find many restaurants, Starbucks, ATM's, a grocery store and of course loads of shops...
Nusa Dua Beach is the only place where we haven't seen anybody biking around or renting a motor bike to explore the area. There are always some travelers who would love to do this but these facilities are just not available. You might try your luck just outside the gates in the village of Bualu. You can also hire a taxi. When you ask for one mention to the hotel staff that it should be a "Bluebird Taxi". This company is the most reliable one and they switch on the taxi meter automatically. Important Addresses and Handy Phone NumbersYou can always leave your postcards at the resort's reception but when you have some bigger items you can find the Post Office on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai. It's located just outside the gates on the left side of the road to Jimbaran. Every resort has a 24-hour doctor service on call but there is a special clinic as well. It's called the Bali Nusa Dua Emergency Clinic 1 (tel: 361-771324) and it's located on Jalan Pratama no.81. For more serious injuries I would go to the following two clinics: The Bali International Medical Center (0361-761263) which is located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai no. 100X near the Galleria Shopping Arcade in Kuta. The SOS Medika Bali Clinic (Emergency number: 0361-710 505) is also located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai no. 505X, this is the road between Kuta and Sanur. The Police Station can be found in Tanjung Benoa, north of Nusa Dua Beach almost at the end of Jalan Pratama. Things to doEven though Nusa Dua Beach is made for those travelers who like to relax on the beach, eat under the palm trees and who like to cool off in one of the many swimming pools there are still a couple of other things you can do here too.
RestaurantsThere are no independent restaurants around Nusa Dua Beach, everything is in-house and ranges from Indonesian, Western to Japanese cuisine. Some resort have 4 or 5 different restaurants so don't worry, you'll find your favorite place.
When you don't feel like eating at the resort anymore there are many good other options as well. You could go to the Bali Collection where they have a wide variety of restaurants or you can visit the restaurants on Jalan Pratama in Tanjung Benoa.
Big names at Tanjung Benoa restaurants are the Bumbu Bali restaurant (chef here is Heinz von Holzen,who also own the Picadilly restaurant in Sanur) and the Casa Luna Restaurant. Resorts and Villas in Nusa Dua BeachThis place is all about resorts and lately some villas have sprung up as well for those travelers who love to have more privacy and that little bit of extra luxury. I have to warn you though, some of these resorts are massive and look more like a village so be prepared... Our favorites are the following:

Spa: There are probably more spa's here than anywhere else on this tropical island. Every resort tries to outdo the other with its facilities and the latest treatments but you can also find many spa's on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai that have attractive spa packages.
Nusa Dua Shopping: The best place for shopping is at the Bali Collection and also outside the gates in Bualu village. There's a special free hotel shuttle service to drop you off at the Bali Collection where various brands are represented. If you can't find what you are looking for than head over to Jalan Raya Seminyak for the many classy boutiques.
Nusa Dua water sports: The Nusa Dua beach is without doubt one of the cleanest and longest beaches in this southern part of Bali. Here you can do some water sports such as wind surfing, surfing, kayaking, jet skiing, para-sailing but also go on a 
Golf: The
