Relax at Puri Wirata Resort Amed Bali...

When we arrived at Puri Wirata Resort Amed for the first time, my girlfriend and I were surprised about how big it is.

Usually we prefer the smaller types of hotels or resorts, so we were a bit skeptical at first.

We had to go down the hill to check in and we were immediately sent back up the hill with our key.

Hhhmmm, we were expecting a room tucked away from Amed's main selling point: it's magnificent view.

But I guess we had to be patient and see what we were about to get, because as soon as well saw the room we were more then happy.

Puri Wirata Resort Amed has 6 different types of rooms, all very reasonably priced and all built with a terrace that has a view over the ocean.

Their Bali accommodations are the deluxe room, bungalow, superior apartment, villa superior bedroom, villa master bedroom and the 3 bedroom villa.

The facilities in the deluxe room are a four post bed, fan, AC, safe and mini bar.

If you want a bit more luxury and space you can go for the superior apartment or bungalow. The superior apartment is more or less the same as the deluxe but has larger rooms and a bigger terrace.

This is also the case for the bungalow, but it has a private terrace plus a bathtub in the bathroom while the deluxe and superior room don't have these additional's.

The bathrooms in the deluxe and superior rooms are pretty basic compared to other places that we have seen and stayed at.

It's clean though and everything works perfectly, but don't expect a bathroom in which you are tempted to spend more time then necessary...

Then there is the choice of the villas. I can't really say that you can compare it with the private luxury villas in other parts of Bali. They are more or less upgraded rooms set in separate buildings with extended facilities.

If you are with a larger group then you should definitely go for the 3 bedroom villa.

This villa has all the amenities to make your stay super comfortable such as a kitchen, large bathroom, flat screen with DVD/player, more decorations and sun beds on a massive private terrace...

But if you are just with two and you would like a bit more luxury, then there is an option to stay at the villa master bedroom or villa superior room only.

Puri Wirata Resort will then only make specific rooms in the 3 bedroom villa accessible.

To be honest the differences of the interior and facilities between all rooms are not that drastic. The main difference is whether or not you have a TV, bathtub and a massive terrace.

Additionally villa rooms are also located near the pool, the beach and the restaurant. While the deluxe, superior apartment and bungalows are a bit more uphill towards the gate.

Which ever room you take at Puri Wirata Resort Amed, all guests are able to use both swimming pools which are beautifully located near the beach. The tropical pool is just in front of the restaurant while the infinity pool is in the villa area.

The tropical pool has a deep end as it is also used for diving lessons.

We really enjoyed sitting at the pool when we were staying at Puri Wirata Resort Amed. Especially at the end of the day when the sun was not that hot anymore it was perfect to relax on the sundeck chairs.

Because it was right at the beach we would just laze away on the pool terrace or cool down in the pool while gazing over the sea till the end of the horizon.

At night we would even walk down to the pool, lie on the chairs and watch the star filled night sky with awe.

You must agree, it doesn't sound bad does it? Especially if you treat yourself with the delicious treats on the resort's snack menu.

Try the Balinese pancake filled with brown sugar and coconut. It's delicious!

Breakfast is served every morning at the restaurant and is included in the room rate. You can choose from a number of different items from the menu, but if you want to have a bigger breakfast the staff is happy to prepare it for an additional charge.

During breakfast the staff is also available to help you plan your day. They are very helpful at giving you information and they can even arrange a boatman on the spot to take you on a snorkeling tour or a sunset tour.

Puri Wirata Resort Amed can also organize whole day trips around island, but they also specialize in diving trips or padi courses.

Right at the entrance of the resort you can find their dive center where you can make all the arrangements.

If you just plan to do some snorkeling then they are happy to rent you their professional gear as well and arrange a boatman to take you the next day.

Renting snorkeling gear here is Rp. 50.000 per day (mask plus flippers) and boat rental costs Rp. 150.000 for a 2 to 3 hour trip.

Puri Wirata Resort Amed is really a very good option if you are planning to spend a couple of nights in this area. The rooms are very clean, spacious and the bed has the most comfortable mattress. On top of they have wonderful pools which are located at the beach.

You won't be disappointed!
