Ryoshi Restaurant, real Japanese food
in Ubud

Ryoshi Restaurant is found on Jalan Raya in Ubud village. It is not really hard to miss as their entrance it very typical for a Japanese restaurant. The restaurant seems tiny when you enter but downstairs there is more seating available.

Bali is a famous holiday destination for the Japanese and luckily this has resulted in to this amazingly delicious place where you can eat Japanese food. My stomach immediately starts to growl just thinking of the sushi I ate here...

Welcome at Ryoshi Restaurant

We walked all the way to the back where there are low tables and pillows. From the table you are supposedly to see a nice view but when we were there it was fully grown with bamboo...so not much scenery for us.

But then again, you can’t find overgrown bamboo view at home can you? So it still is worth sitting there.

A typical Japanese entrance...

Listening to the background music it seemed that the young Indonesian staff had taken over the place. The typical modern Chinese-Indonesian house music made us all jumpy inside. Not an easy-going way to savor the freshly prepared sushi.

Fortunately they were kind enough to change the music...

Hopefully we didn’t ruin their day.

Real Japanese sushi in a real Balinese village ;-)

Besides various sushi dishes Ryoshi Restaurant has an extensive menu with all kinds of Japanese delights such as udong noodles, oyakudon, bento boxes, tempura, teriyaki and miso soup. They also have sake as a suitable night-cap.

When we were in Sanur and Kuta beach we saw two other Ryoshi Japanese Restaurants.

So if you are at these places and you want to eat more Japanese food you are in luck...
