The Sari Sanur Resort is a little mid-range boutique hotel near the beach and is the ideal place for travelers who love Balinese intimacy and style.
As with so many things in Bali we found this cute gem by accident. While we walked back from our lunch place, the famous Bonsai Cafe on Sanur Beach, we promised each other to stay here for a couple of nights the next time we came to Bali.
We didn't even take a proper look at the resort but we liked the reception already and from experience we have learned to take some risk now and then.
Luckily we weren't sorry, here's our review of the Sari Sanur Resort.

Reception at the Sari Sanur Resort
The reception hasn't changed a bit and the staff are still super friendly and since this is such a small place with only 18 Balinese styled bungalows you will get to know them in no-time.
Once you leave the reception behind and you head for your bungalow the first thing that catches you eye is the immaculate tropical garden with Ying Yang swimming pool.

There's another small bubble bath that looks as if it's been built for the kids but the Sari Sanur Resort is everything but the place to be for kids.
This is one of the more romantic hotels in Sanur that cater mostly to couples who love peace and quiet in a tropical Balinese atmosphere.
The Balinese bungalows are set in a wide circle around the pool and are separated from each other by a stone wall and plants. Every bungalow has its own private verandah with a little bit out-dated furniture.

Our bungalow at the Sari Sanur Resort
The room in the bungalow is spacious due to the high ceiling and is equipped with a king-sized bed and facilities such as air-conditioning, mini-bar, TV, telephone service and coffee/tea station.

King-sized bed with Balinese furniture
The king-sized bed is amazing, we haven't slept so well in a while or it had something to do with the sound of the crickets nearby ;-)

View from the room...
The bathroom is simple but clean and the shower works perfectly, there's enough pressure and this is something you will not always find in hotels in Bali.
When we woke up in the morning we signaled to the staff that we were ready for breakfast and in no-time it was brought to the verandah.

Breakfast at the verandah
Surprisingly it consisted of a no-frills breakfast with juice, coffee or tea, little plate with fruit and toast with marmalade.
Maybe that's what you get at a mid-range resort but we've even stayed at budget places and their breakfast was even more extensive so I think they can do better in this department.

Nonetheless we really like the Sari Sanur Resort. It's only 100 meters from the beach and even here the resort has placed sun loungers for guests only.
It's an ideal get-away for travelers who love bungalows in Balinese style, privacy and peace throughout the resort.
Average price per night is around $85 USD for the superior and $95 USD for the deluxe room.
Pro's: location, Balinese intimacy, staff, cleanliness
Con's: little bit tired rooms and outdoor furniture, meager breakfast
