The Westin Resort Nusa Dua the most family friendly place...The Westin Resort Nusa Dua is located behind the Bali Convention Center and I must say the main entrance doesn't look so appealing compared with other Bali resorts. But once I entered I was in for a big surprise... I found out that it's a terrific resort to stay when spending your holiday in the Nusa Dua Beach area especially for families with kids.
The welcome drink is of course for free but the cool thing is that it's also unlimited self-served...Aah that must sound like music to the ears after a long-haul flight, don't you think? For kids upon arrival there's a kids welcome-package which among other things consist of a drink bottle which can be re-filled for free with soft drinks at every food and beverage outlet throughout the resort. I haven't seen this in any of the resorts in Nusa Dua. At the Westin hotel Bali kids are obviously treated here like real guests and not just like kids.... If this wasn't enough they have also created a mini-menu of favorite foods for children at any of the 6 restaurants. The restaurants at the Westin resort Nusa Dua are very diverse and you have the option of eating at the International Kites Bar (8am-12am), the Japanese Hamabe restaurant (6am-11pm), the Ikan Seafood restaurant at the beach(11am-11pm), the Verandah Cafe (11am-11pm) and at Capsicum Mediterranean Cafe (6.30am-11pm).
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua has 346 rooms all equipped with private balconies. If you are staying at the resort your room will either have ocean views or views on the tropical garden with waterfalls, lotus ponds and swimming pools. The rooms are divided into 9 different classes; the Classic Garden View (409sq m), Classic Pool View (409sq m), the Family Studio (947sq m), the Royal Beach Club Room (409sq m), the Royal Beach Club Terrace (409sq m), the Royal Beach Club Suite (818sq m), Ocean View Suites (villa with pool), Presidential Suite and the Premier Suite(926 sq m).
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua has three eye-catching swimming pools of which one a saltwater relaxation pool. At all pools the Westin has smartly put their sun loungers under Balinese gazebos that are beautifully decorated with white draped curtains It's easy to get sunburned in Bali since it's located near the equator so these gazebos and parasols come in handy;-) And again, the Westin has not forgotten the children here. At the pool the resort has installed a 12-m long water slide where you child won't get enough of. Other day activities that kids can do are dangling on the climbing wall, making summersaults on trampoline and or join the great activities at the recently renovated Westin Kids Club. Here the activities range from star gazing, pizza making, face painting to kite making and fishing. And for kids who can't live without it (even on their holiday) the play station is also part of the party, so don't worry. Not surprisingly the Westin Resort Bali has won several awards for their kids program...
For adults the activities range from playing tennis at one of the four tennis courts, getting involved in water sports or playing a round of golf at the Bali Nusa Dua golf and country club. You can also go for some shopping at the resort's arcade where you find antiques, Balinese souvenirs and clothing. For even more choice you can head to the nearby Bali Collection also called the Nusa Dua Galleria Shopping mall. It's only 10-minutes by foot and besides shops you can find a grocery store, Starbucks and many restaurants too. The restaurants here a cheaper than in the Nusa Dua resorts. Tanjung Benoa, just north of Nusa Dua Beach also has some really good choices of restaurants and they offer real value for money. One of the best things about Bali is that the Balinese can give you heavenly massages. Luckily at the Bali Westin you can get yourself pampered in one of the many spa pavilions in the tropical garden or on the beach.
Besides these many spa pavilions scattered around the premises you can also make appointments at the indoor spa salon or you can even let one of the masseurs come to your room. The Westin Resort Nusa Dua also has the Westin Workout Center with free weights and equipment such as treadmills, steps and bikes with your own flat-screen TV's. It's open 24 hours so when you're still experiencing some jet-lag this is the ideal place to go to. If this is all to much for you, don't worry you can also play some snooker next door of the Workout Center. As said before the Westin has a keen eye for sun loungers and they have put them on the beach as well. Here you can't 'reserve' one by putting your towel on it before heading for the breakfast buffet.
Staff monitors how long the lounger isn't used and replaces your towel with a new folded towel. So just be there on time if you want one of the most comfortable ones. Don't be surprised though if you doze off on one of these loungers, they are ideal for couples and I can imagine that you never want to leave this beach anymore... The Westin Resort Nusa Dua is a fantastic 5-star resort to spend your well-deserved holiday and it's the ideal place for families with kids. Couples will have a wonderful time here as well. It's a very classy hotel with a lot of beautifully decorated places or comfortable seating areas to spend the day on the beach or at the pool. The lobby and the reception are huge and the Kites bar is really inviting with the black piano, the timber beams and comfortable lounge chairs.
