If will not be difficult to find perfect Ubud accommodation while planning your holiday on Bali island. There are many classy little and big hotels in Ubud Bali that are just beautiful to the eye, many hotels have been able to use Ubud's mystical atmosphere into their design.

The ingredients of a typical Ubud accommodation are the fine details of statues, paintings, flowers and impeccable service in a breathtaking environment. Many of these hotels will leave you speechless, that's for sure ;-)

But be prepared because many of these resorts have been carved out of tropical forest leaving you with occassional visitors such as geckos, frogs, grasshoppers, mosquitos e.g.

In the Heart of Ubud

Ibah Warwick:
When I first saw this Bali luxury resort I immediately felt like I had stepped into a fairy tale.

The whole premises seemed ancient and every corner of the hotel is beautifully decorated with flowers and statues.

I am sure you will be amazed by the beauty of this Ubud accommodation too... (prices vary per room type, around US$197-US$405 per night

Arma Resort:
The Arma Resort is as charming as it can get with its many statues, Balinese paintings, gorgeous river, rice field views and tropical gardens that you will have a hard time leaving.

Definitely one of those hidden secrets in Ubud Bali... (around US$111-US$538 per night)

Hotel Tjampuhan Bali:
Built on the banks where two rivers meet this historic hotel is one of the oldest in Ubud and has even been the home of the legendary painter Walter Spies. 

Their gardens are breathtaking with flowers, statues and shrines everywhere. Rooms are in traditional Balinese style and try to get the ones near the rivers even though you're going to climb a lot of stairs... (around US$82 -US$140 per night)

Komaneka at Bisma:
This Ubud accommodation is just a short walk away from Ubud's centre and is another great honeymoon hang-out with a gorgeous pool in the rice paddies, the sound of tropical birds, frogs and crickets.

Rooms are spacious with balconies , big bathrooms, Apple TV and there's complimentary afternoon tea at the main swimming pool...

Alam Indah:
This Ubud accommodation is also located in Nyu Kuning and owned by the same Balinese owner as Alam Jiwa.

All the ingredients are there for a fantastic experience.

Try to book the Hibiscus room with views on the river gorge, you'll never want to leave ... (around US$105 per night)

Alam Jiwa:
The intimate Alam Jiwa located in Nyu Kuning is another one of our favorites.

With spectacular rice field views, spacious rooms, great pool and away from all the hype of shops and taxis.

Ideally located behind the Monkey Forest and has easy access to the village...(around US$95-US$225 per night)

The Saren Indah hotel is a cute little hotel in Nyu Kuning and since it's a small place the staff are more personal and super friendly.

For what you get this Ubud accommodation is  real value for money in a great location just south of Monkey Forest...

Lady Bamboo:
This little gem is tucked away on a river gorge and surrounded by sounds of the tropics.

It's a very low-key place and one of those places you want to buy if you had the money.

Great price/quality ratio and lovely staff at this Ubud accommodation...(around US$68-US$116 per night)

Ubud accommodation with river and/or valley view:

Komaneka at Tanggayuda:
With views of the Oos river valley and rice fields this branch of the Komaneka resorts at Tanggayuda can be found a 15-minute drive north of Ubud.
Their Valley View Pool Villa with private plunge pool is highly recommended and all rooms come with fresh fruit, cookies, afternoon tea, individual WIFI-connections and room service breakfast at no extra cost.
The main swimming pool is very scenic and candle lit dinners by your own private pool are one of the highlights...(around US$214-US$430 per night)

Villa Semana:
With a gorgeous view on the Ayung river below and verdant rice paddies on the left Villa Semana is a pleasant surprise. It's a very intimate place with just 10 villas of which all of them have plunge pools and either rice field view and or river view.
Their spa is famous on the island and even travellers from the south of Bali come here to get pampered...(around US$208-US$289 per night)

The Samaya Bali:
The unique selling point of this Ubud accommodation must be having breakfast or dinner with the sound of the Ayung River in the background.

The Samaya  resort is a quiet resort even though there's a Balinese village around the corner. Moreover the resort has 24h butler service, free bike ride in the area, complimentary afternoon tea, huge bathrooms with jacuzzis and stylish villas with Balinese architecture...(around US$507-US$720 per night)

Four Seasons at Sayan:
Being a 5-star hotel chain such as the Four Seasons has its benefits and most of their locations are very special which also counts for this accommodation at Sayan just outside Ubud. Here you'll have one of the best views on the Ayung River gorge and lush surroundings. The Four Seasons has 18 suites and 42 private villas which makes it one of the bigger resorts but surprisingly you hardly get to see any other guests...(around US$434-US$2210 per night)

Puri Wulandari:
The Puri Wulandari resort is located north of Ubud and built on a the steep edge of a river so when you book a villa near the river you'll need to walk lot of steps or ask for the resort's buggy to wisk you away.
The villas at this special place are huge with big outdoor areas, bathrooms with large tubs (indoor and outdoor showers) and your own infinity pool clinged to the cliff with spectacular views...(around US$391-US$421 per night)

Kupu Kupu Barong Resort:
Being part of the Leading Hotels of the World brand you can be sure it meets all 5-star expectations. The view is great on the river gorge and you'll hear the flow of the river, the Balinese staff are extremely polite (you get your own butler) and the Balinese styled villa is classy with its luxury bathroom, sunken bathtub and plunge pool. Ideal place for honeymooners...(around US$196-US$451 per night)

Maya Resort:
This resort is the ideal place for honeymooners or seasoned travellers as the only things you find here are peace, quiet, romance and quality in a great setting along the Petanu river just outside Ubud. 

It's a huge place so you'll be walking a lot if you want to soak up everything the resort has to offer. Location of the spa is one of the best in the Ubud area...(around US$264 - US$587 per night)

Uma Hotel:
This is a fantastic isolated Bali boutique hotel in Ubud with breath-taking views on the tropical Campuan valley and the river Wos.

An ideal place for their daily yoga, meditation classes and spa treatments.

For those who need some action on the holiday there is also mountain biking...(around US$270-US$817 per night)

Alila Hotel Ubud Bali:
As soon as you arrive at Alila Ubud you will be attracted by their eye catching swimming pool with stunning views over the green river gorge. The whole premises is surrounded by green vegetation.

Contemporary style dominates the premises and room with elegant Balinese touches. Alila is located about 20 minutes drive from Ubud center...(around US$231-US$693 per night)

Bali Spirit Hotel And Spa:
This Ubud accommodation is located along river Wos in Nyu Kuning about 10 minutes from the village center. The premises and their 25 suites and villas have a traditional Balinese style. From every room also you have view over the river and rows of palm trees.

There is a quiet and relaxing atmosphere here. You will be away from the crowd but still have quick access to all the things Ubud village has to offer...(around US$96-US$131 per night)

Ubud accommodation with rice field and/or forest view

The Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah:
In the middle of the rice paddies you'll find this gem of a resort. With just 20 individual villas of which 13 have private swimming pools it feels like the perfect romantic hide-out. 

In the morning there's complimentary yoga or you could do some rice field trekking with your butler instead. The villas are tastefully decorated with pieces of Indonesia's well know art collector Hendra Hadiprana...(around US$413-US$835 per night)

Waka di Ume:
Just north of the center of Ubud you'll find the scenic Waka di Ume resort but where you'll not find a TV or radio. There's Internet but travellers come here to get away from it all with morning classes of yoga being high on the priority list.
After that it's time for some great breakfast, try the sweet Balinese breakfast and you don't want anything else anymore...(around US$195-US$452 per night)

Kori Resort:
The Kori Resort can be found across the street from one of the best museums on Bali, the Neka Museum.
It has stunning views on the rice fields from their Balinese bungalows, restaurant and terraced pool.
If you want Balinese architecture, huge rooms located in a beautiful garden than this Ubud accommodation is worth it...(around US$100-US$359 per night)

Cheap Ubud Accommodation in Ubud Bali

With its beautiful green setting, its narrow ancient looking alleys and the surrounding rice fields it's not surprising that some good hostels are found in amazing locations.

Luckily the budget traveler and backpacker can find reasonable priced accommodation in Ubud which sometimes includes first class views over rice fields or river gorges too.
