Villa Rumah Kecil, meaning 'Small House' is located in a quiet side street of the busy road Jalan Raya Candi dasa.
There are more villas in Candidasa, but none of them except the small house has this secluded romantic location set under the palm trees with a terrific ocean view.

The walls surrounding the premises offer total privacy and together with the full view at sea, you can be assured that you will feel like the only ones here. At least we felt like we were the only ones here...;-)
Once we arrived at this place we were not only excited about its location and how it looks, but the price had us wondering whether we arrived at the right place.

This is together with Villa Gils (located next door) definitely a rare example where quality exceeds price; a super value for money deal. Even better when you are staying with more then two people.
There is no other place on the island where you can find a private Bali luxury villa with these rates and with such a view...
Built in 2006 Villa Rumah Kecil has two master bedrooms located in two separate modern Balinese buildings. One has a king size bed, while the other can be used as a double or twin bedroom.
Additionally in one of the buildings there is an extra room that can be used as an office or as an extra bedroom.
So a total of 5 people can enjoy this little haven in Candi dasa. Besides the bedrooms there is one living area and two separate bathrooms which have a minimal and spacious design, including classy bathtubs and outdoor showers.
Surprisingly the water in Rumah Kecil is slightly 'on the nose' if I may quote Amanda, the Australian owner. She told me that when they were building Rumah Kecil the construction workers should have bored deeper and Rumah Kecil might not have this issue. But don't worry, it's ground water so you can even drink it.
Unlike most villas in Bali, villa Rumah Kecil isn't furnished with any modern design in mind. Instead there are a few accessories which make this "little house" like a real home but with character.

The Australian owner has left a couple
of pictures and other things on the shelves and it feels like your staying
at your friends' place.
But
enough about indoors, the outdoor surroundings of Villa Rumah Kecil are
also a
real treat to the eyes. Everything is pointed towards the
unique and best feature
of this villa: the ocean.
You can't only see it, but hear
and smell it
all at the same time. Our favorite spot is the little gazebo
(Balinese seating area) set right at the beach front where we often stayed until late in the evening. It's just perfect...

By the way there are a couple of stairs that actually lead to a small patch of beach. It's a nice place to wiggle your toes in the sand and it's easy to take a swim around the lagoon something we did early in the morning before we had breakfast.
You can also take another plunge at your own private pool. It's not a huge pool but nonetheless an ideal place to escape from the heat of the sun.

Since this is Bali you can have lunch or a romantic dinner for two in the pavilion in the garden. Just tell the staff what you would like to eat and they'll prepare it for you across the street at Villa Dua Gils.
When we were hungry we just rolled over to the restaurant at Villa Dua Gils and let the staff spoil us with their mouth watering dishes. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and we can highly recommend you to do the same ;-)

But if you feel like eating out it is pretty easy to go to Candidasa despite the villa's remote location. Most of the restaurants in Candidasa offer free transfers if you eat there. So no worries about transportation...
For touring around the island you can arrange your own transportation at Villa Rumah Kecil. The villa has a private driver who will take you on one-day tours around the island or to other places of interest. It's all up to you.

Just make prior arrangements and he will be there to pick you up. This is also the case for the pick up service upon your arrival at the airport.

We believe that we have found a villa in Candidasa that is truly as wonderful as it can gets. It's ideal for a romantic get away, but also ideal for families or friends.

And on top of that (I can't mention it enough) the view is just terrific just as its secluded location right under the palm trees. It almost seems impossible when looking at their rates. Fortunately dreams come true...
