Terrific food and amazing sunsets at
Warung Bintang Bali...

Warung Bintang Bali is one of those restaurants where you will always see people while at other restaurants it is still empty. People seem to know the place and for lunch and dinner it is always pretty busy.

The restaurant is located at the Kalibubuk beach on Jalan Ketepang. If you are there the first time and it is already dark, don’t be taken back by the blue light outside.

Throughout the whole restaurant there is a beautiful candle light glow, but just outside where they promote the menu, they have used a blue colored light which is just too bright...

I understand why they place their menu in the spotlights, because they serve a large variety of Balinese, Indonesian food and Western dishes that all sound mouth-watering.

We had just arrived during sunset so while we were scanning the menu we were also able to admire the gorgeous sunset...

Something we just can’t get enough of in Bali.

When I almost made my choice, the friendly and polite staff reminded me to look above the ceiling where more specials were written on blackboards. They all sounded too tasty...so you can imagine that it took a while till I could finally make my choice.

 

Dinner is served…

 

I went for the ikan pepes, a real typical Indonesian dish. It was perfect, not too spicy and they had used the perfect amount of herbs.

My girlfriend chose the nasi campur: rice with all types of small dishes on the side. She looked pretty happy with the grilled tuna and her vegetable curry.

The dishes at Bintang Bali are big. Our friend Barbro, who ordered the seafood curry, was just able to finish her plate. By the end of dinner we were all pretty much satisfied and stuffed...

The average price for a dish is Rp. 30.000 while the juices are just Rp. 9.000. So at Bintang Bali, you can definitely get great food and excellent juices for a really good price.

Don’t forget dessert if you have some space left...
