Then Warung Blanjong Sanur is definitely one of the places in Bali where you should go to.

 

 

Whenever we visit Bali we are often surprised that many restaurants don't really serve authentic Balinese cuisine anymore as they seem to make some changes to meet the taste of foreign travelers.

But believe me, the real Bali food is still the best. And luckily the owner of Warung Blanjong, Ketut Mariani totally agrees.

After spending two years abroad exploring different varieties of International cuisine, she returned to Sanur beach only to be disappointed that very few restaurants served authentic Balinese food.

That's why she created her Warung and even offers cooking classes in the mornings.

 

Preparing the food at Warung Blanjong Sanur

 

Besides Balinese and Indonesian cuisine, the menu lists International dishes as well. They have burgers, sandwiches, pasta and even fish and chips.

But not surprisingly, we highly recommend ordering from the Balinese or Indonesian cuisine...

Your tastebuds will be grateful.

They have Balinese chicken dishes such as Siap Betutu (chicken roasted in banana leaves and Balinese spices) and Siap Base Kalas (chicken in lemongrass sauce).

But Warung Blanjong Sanur also have Satay lilit (Balinese satay) made from different types of meat and fish.

 

Can't wait to try the delicious food...

 

I couldn't resist trying out my favorite Balinese dish: Pepes Ikan. My girlfriend on the other hand had a more difficult time making her choice so at the end she ordered the Nasi Campur.

Highly recommended if you just can't make your choice, as Nasi Campur is rice served with different kinds of dishes on the side.

Or you can go for the Set Menu, which includes a bit of everything for just USD 10.

To be honest it took a pretty long time before the food was finally served. We even grabbed a bag of krupuk just to keep our stomach from making funny noises.

There were not allot of people there so I don't know if it's usual to wait that long.

But then again...we should not complain because the food was really worth the wait. It was delicious and exceeded our expectations.

 

What a treat...!

 

Warung Blanjong Sanur is not in the center of town. You need to drive down Jalan Tamblingan until you come to the roundabout.

From there take the turn towards the by pass. It's on the corner of the first big street on you left hand side.

If you don't feel like heading over there, they can even deliver the food to your hotel. So it's easy to spoil yourself with real Balinese food!
